I wonder, can Christopher Davis & Matt Huesmann get any better than the Playtime collection and the Christian collection? Yes, they can! They have written two new lullabies that are so sweet and loving – and so expressive about how much we love these little angels in our lives. And, of course, they sing the child’s name several times within the songs. The other 6 lullabies are ones we’ve grown to love through the years. The Davis-Huesmann team has written beautiful arrangements of these favorites, and in some of the songs have incorporated the child’s name – all in all your child’s name is sung 30 times within all 8 songs, providing over 30 minutes of lovely music to lull your child (and possibly you!) into a restful sleep.
You’re An Angel and One in a Million, the new songs, are the most wonderful lullabies I’ve ever heard. And I mean that! Beautiful strings, keyboards, and reeds – along with some well-placed triangle sounds - abound in these rich new compositions. For those of you with newborns, especially, you may cry when you hear the words. The old favorites - Braham’s Lullaby - All Thru the Night - Hush, Little Baby - Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star - All the Pretty Little Ponies - and Are You Sleeping, along with the two new lullabies, have two of the most talented women professional singers in the nation providing the soothing voices. The lush, soft instrumentals add to the restful and peaceful nature of the CD. The accordion music in All the Pretty Little Ponies will whisk you away to a beautiful Italian countryside. This is a lullaby we don’t usually find in collections, and of the familiar songs, I think this one is my favorite! The use of soothing wind chimes and the rich deep sound of a cello bring sweet depth to the Are You Sleeping song.
